Tenses
Simple present and present progressive (continuous)

Use simple present to describe what regularly happened, also use to describe a scientific facts.

1- He usually (always) speaks Spanish at home.
2- He talks to Tom every day.
3- We rarely (often, always) talk to each other.
4- Water boils at 100 0C.
5- Stress causes high blood pressure.
6- They never come late.
7- They are never come late.

Use present progressive describes something happing right now or happening in the extended present time. Use this tense with action verbs.

1- He is speaking English right now..
2- I am staying with friends at the moment.
3- Are you studying hard these days?
4- She is studying in France this year.


Past continuous (past progressive)

Use it with action verbs, Examples:
1- She was (reading , working , playing) at 7 pm.
2- She heard about it . ( She was hearing about it).
3- I weren t working that night.
Use to interrupt action by another action, when and while are usually used, example:

1- I was exercising when he called.
2- While I was eating, my friend was talking on phone.

Since \for
He has become famous since 1995.
He’s loved sport since he was child.
He hasn’t stopped since then.

Bob has owed a restaurant for years.
He has lived there for a long time.

Since \for
