Commercial streets :
The streets are “ the connections between spaces and places , and they are considered as spaces themselves.”
What’s the difference between a road and a street?

The road : aims to provide “transportation”,
transferring passengers from place to another .
Examples of roads: High ways.

The Street: aims to facilitate public interaction
Examples of streets:
Pedestrian streets, alleys, retail streets …...
The street is more than a simple pathway, It represents
a series of connected places, for staying in and not
just for moving through.
So we can define a Street as, a paved public thoroughfare
in a built environment. It is a public parcel of land
adjoining buildings in an urban context, on which
people may freely assemble, interact, and move about.
Types of streets:

There are many types of streets differs in scale, characters, types of buildings that line them such as main streets or pedestrian paths.
Main Street is:
• primary retail street in a village, town, or small city.
• It is usually a focal point for shops in the central business district .
In some larger cities, there may be several Main Streets.
